After fifteen days and forty eight matches in the group stages of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.  The final sixteen nations enter the knockout stages will start to battle it out for the coveted FIFA World Cup in single elimination matches.  With so many surprising and unexpected match results, including the early exit of the 2006 FIFA World Cup champion, Italy and runner-up, France.

Here are the sixteen teams that made it to the next stage (first and second respectively):

Group A:  Uruguay and Mexico
Group B:  Argentina and Korea Republic
Group C:  USA and England
Group D:  Germany and Ghana
Group E:  Netherlands and Japan
Group F:  Paraguay and Slovakia
Group G:  Brazil and Portugal
Group H:  Spain and Chile

Here are the schedule and match-ups for the knockout stage:

26-June – Uruguay versus Korea Republic
26-June – USA versus Ghana
28-June – Netherlands versus Slovakia
28-June – Brazil versus Chile
27-June – Argentina versus Mexico
27-June – Germany versus England
29-June – Paraguay versus Japan
29-June – Spain versus Portugal

With the South American countries dominating the early stages of the tournament and the European countries barely making it to the top sixteen, the ball is round.  So, who’s your bet to win the cup?
