wedding-expo-copy Wedding Updates: Wedding Expo Philippines September 08

Cyril and I attended the Wedding Expo (WEPS08’s) held at the PICC Forum last September 6, Saturday.  It’s a two-day event of a grand display of anything and everything related to wedding.  It’s our first time to attend a bridal fair (we weren’t able to attend the bridal fair last month at The Lakeshore) and I can say that it was a great experience.

There were so many wedding booths featuring their wedding products like gowns, cakes, invites, give-aways, photo and video packages, coordinations etc.  The wedding suppliers even provided bags, brochures and leaflets for soon-to-weds.  We went around the PICC Forum and just grabbed brochures from different suppliers for us to have an idea about their packages, prices and discounts.   Read the Rest of the Entry »

Hi guys! I know it’s been awhile since we were able to post an entry.  Cyril and I were busy these past few weeks. We weren’t able to update our blog and to our readers, we apologize.  Today I will give you updates on what’s been happening with us these past weeks.

Cyril’s uncle passed away last August 02, 2008, his interment was August 06, 2008.  Upon hearing the sad news that he passed away, we hurriedly went home to Bulacan to pay our respect to the late Tito Cesar.  We were all very saddened about what had happened but maybe it was the plan of God.  As for my personal experience, four years ago, my father died after a long battle with Lung Cancer.  At first, it was so hard for us to accept things.  We were all burdened but eventually we recovered from our griefs and resumed our normal lives.  I know our life here on earth is only temporary and God is the only one who knows when it is our time to go. I stumbled upon an informative article, from the Price of Rice, a GMANews.tv Microsite, while trying to make myself busy. It’s about figures and informations about Rice in the Philippines. Who would’ve expected the figures would be that high. With the Rice "Crisis" that the Philippines is currently under, this information would give us insights on how it came about and hopefully how we could overcome it. My question would be, "Are the reasons and solutions, given by our current government, enough to ease the people and not make them worry anymore about the current "Rice Crisis" that we are experiencing?"

SOMS Noodle House
SOMS Noodle House
You may have heard of a place in Makati that serves affordable Thai cuisine. If you’re saying that it’s SOMS Noodle House, you’re 100% right. If I’m not mistaken it’s more or less a year that I last ate at SOMS. It was still during my Makati working days and the first time that I ate at SOMS was when one of my previous bosses treated us to lunch there. I’m no fan of Thai foods, but let me say that SOMS could give some of the Thai restaurants a run for their money.
Jen and I decided to eat lunch there last Friday, after my "appointment" at Shaw Blvd., since we were on our way to PBCom Bldg. for Jen’s "appointment". A lot has changed since the last time we visited, the place now has an Air Conditioned Room, with an additional 10% charge, and there are more tables on the outside and waitresses, with uniforms. It was lunch time so there were only a handful of people eating there.

I always order Curry there, may it be Red, Green or Yellow, and then there’s the Bagoong Rice, then the Spring Rolls, with Milk Tea for drinks. I won’t suggest on trying out the Phad Thai, for me it’s not that good but I’d suggest you try their Tom Yam Soup. The service was a little faster compared to our last visit. Also, comparing the last time that I ate at SOMS, the serving for the Bagoong Rice was good for 2-3 persons, but now it was only good for 1, this could may as well be an effect of the sky rocketing price of rice, and the Milk Tea, if I remember it correctly, the size of the bottle before was 500mL, but now it’s smaller. Even though there are a lot of changes, it was still worth it. The food there is worth the money for your tummy. Affordable and delicious Thai Cuisine.

starbucks SM City Clark Starbucks Coffee Opens
It’s been quite some time that I’ve visited Starbucks Coffee, since the closest shop they have here in Pampanga is at SM City Pampanga located in San Fernando (I’m in Angeles City by the way), and its about 15-20 minutes drive via NLEX. At last, I won’t have to take that long drive to SM City Pampanga just to go to Starbucks Coffee. Last week Starbucks Coffee opened their shop in SM City Clark after waiting for more or less 2 months. Since we were able to see the announcement "Soon to Open" outside of the stalls where the shop is located.
The shop in SM City Clark spans three stalls and is located beside the right entrance at the back of SM. On the outside of the shop they have the usual coffee tables were customers usually hang out while having their favorite Starbucks products. The inside of the shop is a little bit cramped near the counter because of a "post", I think it’s one of the support for the building, but for the general area its fine. What I really liked about Starbucks Coffee shops is the ambience. Relaxing.
So, last Monday, Jen and I gave the shop a visit and had our usual orders of Frappuccino, Mocha for me and Caramel for Jen. We decided to sit outside the shop, I prefer hanging out outside. We stayed for a good 15-20 minutes, me toying with our Rubiks Cube, and Jen playing HotShots Golf on her PSP.

I kinda missed just hanging out at Starbucks, I’m glad that they opened a shop here in Angeles City, so Jen and I now have a new place to hang out if we visit SM City Clark.
P.S.
This is actually my first Blog Post, its kind of a weird feeling. Hehehehe! Well, hopefully this will be a jumpstart for me to write more.
