PisoBid – Bidding War

pisobid PisoBid Bidding War

It’s been a week since PisoBid launched their website and made a big impact on the Philippine internet scene.   The site created a big buzz on social networks, people were in awe on how low one could get to purchase the items on auction.  Prompting a number of people to doubt the legitimacy of the site and if the winning bidder really was able to get the item they’ve won.

All in all there are already 51 items auctioned out by PisoBid, ranging from Bid Packs, Load Cards (Globe, Smart and Sun), Gift Certificates (Starbucks, Toby’s, Store Specialists Inc., The Spa and SM), to coll gadgets like, IPhone 4, IPad 2, IPod, Samsung Galaxy Tab, BlackBerry Phone, XBox, Sony PS3, Sony DigiCam, and MacBook Air.

If you’re intrigue on how to join PisoBid, start of by registering here, you’ll be given a starting of 5 bids.  How do you get more bids, you need to buy Bid Packs for you to be able to bid more. Bid Packs can be bought through PayPal and LoadCentral ranging from 300 Pesos to 3000 Pesos.

How does PisoBid work, each item that are up for auction starts at 1 Peso, with each bid adds 0.01 centavo to the price of the item.  There is a specific time that the auction will end and at the time, the bid war starts, at the end of the auction, each bid on the item extends the timer of for a certain period (ranging from 15, 16 and 20 seconds) up until to the point that the last bidder wins the item without anyone outbidding him when the timer ends. Well as though its live bidding, there’s somewhat a grace period of 3 seconds after the timer goes to 1, “Going…” will be the signal that its the last chance to bid for the item.

For those wanting to join in on the “bidding war” at PisoBid, this is not for the whiners, you need to invest money and time, its not like in live bidding that even if you lost, you won’t be charge for your bid, in PisoBidevery bid you make will be deducted to your bid balance and will not be returned if you lose the item.

Also for the skeptics and those who are still doubting the legitimacy of PisoBid, there are testimonials of winning bidders posted on their site and their PisoBid Facebook page, its up to you to decide, but for us its legit.  I also suggest you read the Terms and Conditions of PisoBid before reading so as not to be like some of the people who just registered, bid and then whined on the comments.

For us, will be continuing to join the bidding war and hopefully add up to the MacBook Air that Jen won last June 10, 2011.

Bagoong Rice

Mark loves Bagoong Rice and so do I.  When we are in Makati Area, near Rockwell, we always go to SOM’s Noodle House and order Bagoong Rice. icon smile Bagoong Fried Rice   Today I thought of cooking Bagoong Rice-my own version.  Here’s the recipe:

What you need:

3 tsp Olive oil

Eggs, beaten

Green Mango, sliced

Onions, chopped

Onion Leaves, chopped

Salt

Bagoong

Cold Rice (left-over)

What to do:

Heat oil in a wok.

Cook the scrambled eggs and set aside.

On the same wok, add the onions. Saute until clear in color.

Then add the rice and mix for 5 to 7 minutes.

Add the cooked bagoong and toss in the rice.

Add the onion leaves and season with salt.

Mix then put in a serving plate.

Sliced the mangoes and the scrambled egg for garnish.

Serve the rice with strips of egg and mangoes and of course serve with love. icon smile Bagoong Fried Rice

A Baby Safe Desk Fan

Keeping my baby safe gets more challenging everyday. Especially now that my daughter started cruising a month ago.  To ensure her safety, I use baby safe products available in the market.  So, my mom asked me if I want this desk fan and purchased it for me.  It costs less than a thousand pesos.  What I like about this fan is it’s safety grill. I don’t have to buy electric fan cover. icon biggrin A Baby Safe Desk Fan   Check the pictures below.

A Must Win for the Azkals

After two matches in their group, the Philippine Azkals currently have two points, and currently on third position of their group.  Drawing their two matches, 1-1 against Myanmar and 0-0 against Palestine, the Philippine Azkals need no more less than a win against Bangladesh tomorrow to take them through to the AFC Challenge Cup 2012.

Palestine sits top of Group A with 4 points, winning against Bangladesh on their first match and then drawing against the Philippines.  Bangladesh is on second place with three points after winning their second match against the more favored Myanmar, bouncing back after they lost to Palestine on their first outing.  Myanmar sits at the bottom of the group with only a point, as it drew against the Philippines on the first match, then experiencing a shocking lost to Bangladesh on their second match.

Here’s how the Group A stands:

Team GP W D L GF GA +/- Pts
PALESTINE 2 1 1 0 2 0 2 4
BANGLADESH 2 1 0 1 2 2 0 3
PHILIPPINES 2 0 2 0 1 1 0 2
MYANMAR 2 0 1 1 1 3 -2 1

The Azkals are on a must win situation tomorrow against Bangladesh, as a draw or a lost will leave them in third place in the group and will end their run in the AFC Challenge Cup 2012.  Regardless of the result of the other match between Palestine and Myanmar.

From the last two matches of the Azkals that we followed through twitter, it seems that the Azkals are slow starters, during the first half of the two matches they played, it seems like they were still looking for their touches and was oftentimes being pushed back by their opponents.  Then, after the halftime break and most probably pep talks from the coaching and managerial staffs, the Azkals somewhat shifts to another gear, very different to how they played on the first half.  Though it seems fine that they step up during the second half, but what is more important is that they do it for the whole ninety-minutes plus stoppage/injury time.

I hope that tomorrow when the referee blows his whistle for the start of the match between the Azkals and Bangladesh, the Azkals will play more aggressively and with more intent, just how they play the last forty-five minutes of their last two matches, and also that they could sustain it for the whole ninety-minutes and plus the added stoppage/injury time.
