Sixers Lead 2-1, Mavs Gets One Back, Spurs Poised For A Sweep

Detroit Pistons 75 – Philadelphia 76ers 95

Andre Miller was scorching hot with his jumpers as he scored 21 points, and Samuel Dalembert scored 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, while the rest of the Sixers ran all over the court in a dominating 95-75 victory over the Pistons to take a 2-1 lead in their first-round best-of-seven series. The 76ers busted the game open in the third period, ending it with a 22-9 run that put the game away.

Richard Hamilton scored 23 points and Tayshaun Prince added 18 points, without the two, the Pistons might have lost by 30 points as Antonio McDyess, who broke his nose when Andre Iguodala hit him while going for a rebound, Rasheed Wallace and Billups combined for only 15 points in the entire game. The Pistons, who led the league with just 11 turnovers per game, committed 25, easily their season high.

The Sixers’ regular-season leading scorer, Iguodala, had 10 points on a 2-for-9 shooting from the field while the Pistons’ Wallace was held to only one basket and two points in the first half and they were only 2-for-8 from the foul-throw line.

New Orleans Hornets 87 – Dallas Mavericks 97

Dirk Nowitzki scored 32 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and dished out 6 assists to give the Mavericks their first win against the the Hornets, 97-87, and within 2-1 in their first-round best-of-seven series. Jason Terry started for the Mavericks replacing Jerry Stackhouse and was given the task to be Chris Paul’s primary defender, who only produced 16 points and 10 assists, compared to Games 1 and 2 where he averaged 30 points and 10 assists. Terry was also in the zone on the offense, as he scored 22 points and had 6 assists, Jason Kidd scored 8 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had 5 assists, Josh Howard scored 18 points for Dallas, but was only 5-of-16.

Paul finished 4-of-18, David West was 6-of-20 for 14 points, Jannero Pargo, was the high point man for the Hornets, scoring 30 points and Peja Stojakovic contributed 13 points for the Hornets. West late surge for the Hornets was able to cut a 17-point deficit to 90-83 with 2 minutes left, but they were not able to close the gap further.

San Antonio Spurs 115 – Phoenix Suns 99

San Antonio’s point guard, Tony Parker, took out the light from the Suns for a career-high 41 points along with 12 assists as the Spurs rolled to a 115-99 victory to take a 3-0 series lead. Tim Duncan added 23 points and 10 rebounds and Manu Ginobili scored 20 points in the Spurs’ fourth straight playoff road win.

Amare Stoudemire scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Phoenix, Leandro Barbosa scored 20 points and Shaquille O’Neal, who finished 9-for-17 from the free throw line, had 19. Steve Nash, defended ferociously by Bruce Bowen, had seven points on 3-of-8 shooting with 9 assists.
