Ever thought of holding a surprise birthday party for someone close to you? I did and I always do. I love giving surprises to the people close to my heart. Last Saturday, July 05, 2008 I threw a surprise birthday party for Cyril.
This time is not that easy, unlike the previous year. Last year, we celebrated his birthday here in Angeles City . It was a bit easy because I just informed my friends in Manila to come here and rented a videoke room in Chick and Ribs and that’s it. This year, I thought of celebrating his birthday in Plaridel , Bulacan . I called his Aunt, Mama Pat, and told her my plan. I asked her a favor if she could cook something for Cyril’s birthday and I also told her that it’s a surprise birthday party. Our friends in Manila will come and join us, I also informed Cyril’s best friend, Jean.
Everybody was excited with the idea of surprising Cyril on his birthday. But I tell you it’s not that easy. Why? First of all, Cyril asked me if we can go to Plaridel on the 4th of July, Friday and be back here in Pampanga on Saturday. I told him that we can’t go home on Friday and that we’ll just go home on Saturday night instead. Thank God he agreed with me. On Thursday, he changed his mind, and wants us to go home on Friday, especially when he changed his schedule at work from 8:30am-5:30pm to 3:00am-12:00noon. Unfortunately, his boss in Auction didn’t allow him to go home because they experienced problems with the site, etc. He was able to go home at around 6 o’clock in the evening.
Come Saturday, I told him we will bring food to Bulacan . So, we bought some brownies at Susie’s , Baked Macaroni and Cake from Toll House . He also sent text messages to his siblings asking them to go to Bulacan to celebrate his birthday.
Secondly, Anj (Cyril’s sister) sent me a text message, asking me if there will still be a surprise party for his diko . She’s wondering because Cyril texted them and she tought that Cyril already knew about the party. I told her his brother doesn’t have any idea yet.
Thirdly, some of the people I invited informed me that they can’t come (including his bestfriend) due to unexpected circumstances. Whew! I thought my plan will not push through anymore but it did. Before going home, we went to Malino to attend Ate Marie’s Despedida Party. She will be going back to the United States on Monday.
OMG! My friends were already texting me on how to go to Cyril’s place. They were on their way to Plaridel and we were still in Angeles . Aroud 6:00pm we left Ate Marie’s Place. On our way to Bulacan , while we were still in NLEX , Brayan called me asking directions. I couldn’t properly answer his questions because Cyril is with me. I just texted Brayan and told him that I was with Cyril and we are on our way to Plaridel .
When we were already there I told our friends to be prepared because we are already getting near the place. Alas, we were already at their place and Tito Freddie and Tata Ens were waiting for us outside the house. I couldn’t describe Cyril’s face while getting off the van. You can imagine his surprise when he discovered that there is party for him. All the lights were turned off and it was only opened when we were already inside.
Our Tantra friends were there: Maren, Goks, Kuya Louie, Brayan, Wacks, Kai, Resty, Jr, Kenneth, Dade Josh, and Elly. Cyril’s siblings: Kuya Nel, Anj and RP who was with his GF, Joan. His relatives, neighbors and kababata were also there. All of us enjoyed the party. We slept around 6:00am. Tired but happy. 
Thanks to Mama Pat, Papa Freddie and Len-Len for the help. Without them, the party won’t be possible. Thanks to Tita Miring, Tita Cheng, Tita Semy, Kuya Ahryss and to all who helped out.
Cyril was very thankful. He said that I always surprise him and I don’t run out of surprises. I told him that I want him to be happy that’s why I always do these things for him.
