Two Milk Products in RP Positive for Melamine

Green Food Yili Pure Milk Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) announced last week that more than 50 milk products will be tested for the presence of melamine . BFAD and DOH on Friday said that two of the 30 milk brands so far tested were found positive for melamine .

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III identified Green Food Yili Pure Milk and Mengniu Original Drink Milk from China have both tested positive for melamine contamination. The said products have already been found to be contaminated in tests in China.

Sec. Duque said they will release a complete list of melamine-tainted products by Tuesday, next week. 28 milk and chocolate products- like M&M, Nido, Bear Brand and Snickers- were found negative for melamine content.

The following are the 28 melamine-free products:

2. Anlene High Calcium, Low Fat Milk UHT
3. Bear Brand Instant
4. Chic Choc Milk Chocolate
5. Farmland Skim Milk
6. Jinwei Drink
7. Jolly Cow Pure Fresh Milk
8. Kiddie Soya Milk Egg Delight
9. Lactogen 1 DHA Infant Formula
10. M&M Milk Chocolate Candy
11. M&M Peanut Chocolate Candy
12. Milk Boy
13. Nestogen 2 DHA Follow-up Formula
14. Nestogen 3 DHA Follow-up Formula
15. Nido 3+ Pre-bio with DHA
16. Nido Full Cream Milk Powder
17. Nido Junior
18. No-Sugar Chocolate of Isomalt 2 Oligosaccharide
19. Nutri Express Milk Drink
20. Pura UHT Fresh Milk
21. Snickers brown
22. Vitasoy Soya Milk Drink
23. Wahaha Orange
24. Wahaha Yellow
25. Want Want Milk Drink
26. Windmill Skim Milk Powder
27. Yinlu Milk Peanut
28. Yogi Yogurt Flavor Milk Drink

Sec. Duque also said that only after they have completed testing all milk and milk-based products from China would they start examining other non-milk products.

Melamine-tainted milk has been blamed for four deaths and other illnesses among 54,000 children in China. The Philippines is one of at least 12 countries that have banned Chinese dairy products and foods.

cadbury at snickers ata may mga melamine din.. kaya nipullout na sila sa mga 7-11 eh hais..
